CHAPTER ONE

Josephine stood before her destiny with wonder in her eyes and her heart beating on a dark, winey road.  She couldn’t wait to see what lay ahead of her future. Josephine had dreamed of her fortune for so long. All she could feel was the anticipation of her destination calling her.  Josephine’s destiny was a wonder to her for so long. The goal of her destiny became what she was soul concerned about; that was all she saw. She never thought about destiny; if she thought about her future, Josephine would believe only negatively about herself, thinking she was losing out on life because of all her challenges. Destiny seemed to have her back from before she took her first breath. A breath that should’ve been her only breath, but fate had other plans. If only Josephine could see her destiny before her, she would see that her road had someone passing the opposite way.

From the day he took his first breath, Lorenzo’s path in life was laid out for him. His destiny was nothing but the net; he was born with a pair of goal feet to kick balls into the net, which he desired.

Life didn’t come easy to him, but it did come naturally.

Everything he thought or wanted in life came quickly, but he still knew he had to work hard to achieve it. When Lorenzo decided to enter the afterlife, he would reach his goals.

One night, on a dark, long, windy road filled with destiny, they met a fate they never saw coming. Destiny and fate took their course for Josephine and Lorenzo; they would be bonded for life. Life, fortune, and destiny brought unlikely people down an unlikely road for both. A route that could have brought them tragedy brought them the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Two lives that had no reason to have met now are connected because of a long, windy road.

If you are in a dark place, think about Josephine and Lorenzo. Life is never set from the day we are born; as much as we might think, destiny is set up at the end of life. I’m unsure, but we choose how to get to our destiny. I believe that we make our path, and the future of both is our destiny set when we take our first breath.

I met my destination over ten years ago; however, like Josephine and Lorenzo, it took us years and what seemed like a life of wandering to find out why we met. When you first meet someone, no matter your age, your heart speaks to you; whether it’s good or bad, listen to it.
