The music in Josephine’s head helped her during the loneliest times in her life. Music made Josephine feel like she always had a relatable friend to talk to. When Josephine felt life wasn’t fair, she put her headphones on and entered her world.

A world where Josephine didn’t have to deal with the consequences of being different from her peers. The fact that she was different from everyone else made her lonely. As much as she never showed her loneliness on the outside, her loneliness went unnoticed so much that she would slip deeper inside.

The more bottomless Josephine entered her world, the louder the music became. The music became louder when Josephine didn’t care about the physical world. The only world Josephine cared about was the one that her music created.

Josephine’s creation of her music world was her way of disappearing from her imperfection in her real world. When Josephine vanished into her music world, she became destined to be successful in the life she was creating. Josephine got so comfortable in this world that when she was in the real world, she wouldn’t stop to see what was truly happening. Josephine was starting to be afraid of the outside world. All she wanted was to be in the world.

As much as Josephine wanted to be in her world, she made herself miss out on a lot more than if she stayed in the real world. If her disability didn’t lose herself to the music, Josephine wouldn’t have listened to the music and the words in her head as much as she did; Josephine would have held herself more than how she was held back from her disability.

It took Josephine years to see what she was doing to herself. Once Josephine saw what she was doing to herself, she started to turn down the music and look for a way back from the life she had made up. She knew it wasn’t going to be easy for two reasons. First, she didn’t want to face who she was and didn’t know how she would deal with living in the real world again.

Josephine’s mental health was never the same again. It took her years to clean up her mess and realize her selfishness has caused so much heartache around her. As Josephine started to see this, she began to see that her disability wasn’t something to fear or it wasn’t something that made her weak or worthless. Josephine realized that what she hated and feared about herself was what she needed to keep close to her because it was her strength and power.

The strength and power that Josephine found in herself made her into someone she didn’t know she had in her. The music turned back on at this time, but this time, the music was softer and more positive. The selection of music that was playing was more upbeat. The music gave her the power to step up and allow herself to make the best life she ever had.

Everything came naturally to her during this time, as if it had never happened before. Josephine realized that once she took hold of what she faired, she was able to change the music in her and have the life she deserves
